Troubleshoot MediaRack email

If your email account cannot send or receive messages, work through these checks before opening a support ticket.

Have you checked webmail? If webmail is working, then you most likely have a localised connection issue.

Confirm your connection

  • Open another website to confirm that the device has internet access.
  • Restart the mail application and try again.
  • If possible, test the mailbox through webmail.

Check the account settings

  • Your username must be your complete email address.
  • The incoming server should be srv1.mediarack.com.au on port 993 using SSL/TLS.
  • The outgoing server should be srv1.mediarack.com.au on port 465 using SSL/TLS.
  • Outgoing-server authentication must be enabled.
  • The outgoing server must use the same username and password as the incoming server.
  • Secure Password Authentication (SPA) should be disabled.

Check storage and password issues

  • Confirm that the mailbox has not reached its storage limit.
  • If the password was recently changed, update it on every connected device.
  • A device repeatedly using an old password may trigger a temporary security block.

When opening a support ticket

Include the affected email address, approximate time of the problem, whether sending or receiving is affected, the recipient or sender involved and the complete error message. Do not include your password.
